Welcome
to the Myrtle Hill website!
The
cottages were converted from stone-and-slate built barns
in 2001. We have tried to retain as much of their original
character as possible, leaving the stone exposed and
using traditional materials in keeping with the age
and character of the buildings. The barns were part
of a working farm until 1987. The large cottage, known
as the 'Granary', was a milking parlour and granary;
and the smaller cottage, known as the 'Workshop', actually
was the workshop!
Easily
accessible (less than 3 hours from M25) the cottages
are situated only 6 minutes from the end of the M4 in
the natural, unspoilt Carmarthenshire countryside, and
are ideally located for exploring and discovering this
beautiful and rural part of Wales. Wherever your interests
lie, there is plenty nearby to keep you busy. You can
find out more about the area and its attractions by
looking at our pages Towns
and Country, Fun
for the Family, Castles
and Gardens and The
Great Outdoors.
The
cottages are set in their own gardens, thus giving privacy
to the visitor, but we live in the farmhouse adjacent
to them. We aim to provide comfortable private accommodation
for those who want to get away, but also offer a welcoming
and friendly service for those who want to find out
more about the rural life of Wales.
Both cottages are currently fully booked for the next few months. We apologise for any inconvenience, and would suggest that you check the website or contact us again in September to check availability. Alternatively, please e-mail us at info@myrtlehill.co.uk and we will contact you when either cottage becomes available. Our apologies again for the inconvenience and we look forward to hearing from you again in due course.
